Research Assistant, Tropical Laboratory Initiative
Maitreyi is working with the Hemorrhagic Fever Laboratory in Conakry, Guinea on validating new diagnostic tests for Ebola in local laboratory settings. This work is done is partnership with the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics. She is currently a first year Master of Public Health student at the Mailman School of Public Health with a focus on Epidemiology and Comparative Effectiveness and Outcomes Research. She got her undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Her interests are disease epidemiology and outcomes research with respect to global health. She has worked for organizations such as the Society for Nutrition,Education & Health Action and the Akanksha Foundation in Mumbai. She was recently selected for the Columbia University Global Health Research Fellowship through the IFAP Global Health Program and will be spending the summer of 2017 in Uganda.
