World Happiness Report 2020

March 20, 2020

The World Happiness Report is a landmark survey of the state of global happiness that ranks 156 countries by how happy their citizens perceive themselves to be. The World Happiness Report 2020 for the first time ranks cities around the world by their subjective well-being and digs more deeply into how the social, urban and natural environments combine to affect our happiness.

The World Happiness Report 2020 was published on March 20, 2020 in tandem with a virtual launch event hosted by editors and authors.

CSD Director Jeffrey D. Sachs serves as Editor of the World Happiness Report, and co-authored a chapter on "Sustainable Development and Human Well-being" this year, which explores the empirical links between the Sustainable Development Goals and human well-being.

CSD Manager of Special Projects Sharon Paculor serves as Production Editor of the World Happiness Report, and CSD Intern Juliana Bartels provided editorial and revision support.
